Game creator and designer Erik Ney relies on his brother, Jeff, wife, Sherri, and a number of friends and consultants for feedback and ideas. They have helped him to hone the game into the deep and exciting game that it is today. Erik always enjoys listening to the ideas of the players and sometimes incorporating these ideas into the game. Erik Ney
Mortal Existence Game Creator and Designer
Erik states that Mortal Existence is a part of who he is, and that it has been a measure of his life for more than 40 years. The idea for Mortal Existence was sparked by Tolkien’s brilliant creations and from playing other role playing games. When he was 12 years old, he played Dungeons and Dragons for the first time, and he was hooked.
After playing D&D for a short while, he thought that he could create a fantasy role playing game and make it his own unique creation. A number of the monsters and creatures in the current game he developed at the young age of 12. These monsters and creatures have since changed to conform to the rules of the game as they developed, but nonetheless, their concepts were created at that time.
Now, after 40 years of revisions, rule changes and much development, having played the game with friends and family and making countless memories, he has decided to release Mortal Existence to the public.
His hope is that everyone who plays the game will enjoy it as much as he and his friends and family have through the years, and that they will create fun and lasting memories of their own.

What is the Mortal Existence experience? Mortal Existence is a game in an otherworldly realm to explore adventure and experience a community that inspires creativity. It involves problem solving, decision making, strategy, and skill in a challenging, mind-engaging atmosphere.
It amazes us how “The story writes itself!” We are created for adventures and great stories, and Mortal Existence provides a place to experience that while enhancing friendships and providing fellowship.
Great Stories & The Characters within often show us the relevancy of our own lives and can teach us how to approach circumstances with perseverance conviction and insight.
We experience everything from sacrifice and fear to victories and moral courage. True fellowship is far more than just physically meeting together, but an endeavor meant to be a shared experience of intimately stepping into each others’ lives and intentionally working through challenges and needs together.
The Mortal Existence experience is better gaming with purpose rather than just more gaming; providing a creative outlet with distance between real life impulses and emotions. It involves the natural stream of engaged thoughtfulness, focused reflection, and a balanced connection to a shared story through ourselves and others. Autonomy and a shared sense of belonging in a story that inspires and challenges one’s worldview…
This mortal and spiritual existence. Write your Mortal Existence story! Greatness leads to more Greatness! Mortal Existence is Greatness!

If you grew up immersed in RPGs, you know the thrill of strategy, the weight of choices, the rush of battle. But this RPG is no ordinary campaign. This is not chess.
This is not even 3D chess. This is your Mortal Existence itself — a game played on a plane far beyond imagination and becomes a realm you want to dwell and exist in.
If you are a video gamer, and love exploring immersive, extensive worlds and solving puzzles and battling fantastical creatures, this is the game that you can play which is completely visualized in your mind and not on the video screen.
Here, the battlefield is not lit by video screens or pixels. It is painted upon the very canvas of your imagination. This entire game plays out in your mind, not through your eyes. Just like the original old school RPG games did when I was enamored with them as a youth. But Mortal Existence is on an entirely different level.
When you play your video game, if you fail to solve a puzzle, or you fail to defeat your enemy, you die. BUT! For some reason, you can just reload your last save point and keep trying dozens of times until you figure it out.
Your enemy always reacts the same way in your video game, so you learn how they will react, and eventually you will figure out how to defeat them after many tries. Congratulations
on not surviving your first dozen attempts. You are a ‘true warrior’.
You will be given no such quarter playing Mortal Existence. You will need to figure it out the first time and you have but one chance. If your character fails, there is no reload button. If your character dies, they are never coming back.
They are just another lost soul to the Mortal Realms. Every clash carries the weight of eternity, for each battle may claim a soul that will never walk beside you again. You do not fight alone — you fight for the fellowship,
for the fragile thread that binds your destinies together. If you fall in battle, you will have to start over with a brand new character with totally different traits, and totally different skills, and you will be starting over from the very beginning.
And know this, you will mourn the loss of your character. It’s hard to explain, but you will become connected with them as you wander the Mortal Realms. And if they are gone, it feels like a part of you is gone as well. You won’t understand this fully until you actually play.
In Mortal Existence, you quickly become intimately connected with your character as well as the characters in your group due to the gravity of the situation. You realize that every battle could result in the loss of group members, and they will
never be seen again. And your surviving group will be in peril without them. When you engage in battle, you are not only looking out for your own character, but your entire group. You realize that you will ALL suffer if someone does not make it
through the battle.
As you embark on your first magnificent journey, the best advice I can give is this: You need to have a group with various talents and strengths. And each character
will necessarily have their own weaknesses. And that’s OK. Such is life in the Mortal Realms.
As you begin your quest, you should play to your group's strengths and
strategically minimize your group’s weaknesses. All battles fought in human history have played out this way. The Mortal Realms do
not deviate from this principle.
Solve the puzzles. Win the battles. Use and nurture your group's skills and press on to glory in the Mortal Realms!
Mortal Existence. It’s always great to escape your daily reality and live in the Mortal Realms. Your characters await!
